Game Features and Bonuses
Layout and Ways to Win: The game uses a 6-reel, 4-row grid, providing 4096 ways to win, where combinations are formed by landing matching symbols on consecutive reels starting from the leftmost reel.
Wild Symbols: Wilds can appear on any reel and substitute for all regular symbols to help form winning combinations, excluding Scatter symbols. Some Wilds can expand to cover an entire reel, acting as expanded Wilds.
Cascades and Win Multipliers: Winning symbols are removed from the reels, triggering a cascade where new symbols fall into place. This process continues as long as new wins are formed. A win multiplier starts at 1x and increases by +1 with each cascade, resetting after a non-winning cascade.
Infections: This feature can trigger randomly during any spin in both the base game and Free Spins. When active, it transforms low-paying symbols into higher-paying symbols, potentially leading to bigger wins.
Free Spins: Landing 3 or more Scatter symbols triggers the Free Spins bonus round. The number of spins awarded varies from 7 for 3 Scatters up to 13 for 6 Scatters. During Free Spins, a persistent multiplier starts at 1x and increases by +1 for every win, not resetting between spins.
Gameplay Mechanics and Strategies
Unique Mechanics: Mutagenes combines cascading reels with an increasing win multiplier in both the base game and Free Spins, providing dynamic gameplay. The "Infections" feature adds another layer of randomness by upgrading symbols.
In-Game Dynamics: The high volatility means that wins may not occur frequently, but when they do, they have the potential to be substantial, especially with the accumulating multipliers during cascades and Free Spins.
Player Strategy: While no strategy can alter the game's inherent RTP, players can consider the Ante Bet (Golden Bet) option, which increases the bet by 0.5x for a higher chance of triggering Expanding Wilds or Free Spins. This is a choice to increase feature frequency at a higher cost per spin.
