Game Features and Bonuses
Layout and Cluster Pays: The game is played on a 6-reel, 5-row grid. Wins are formed by landing clusters of 5 or more matching symbols. Winning symbols are removed, and new ones drop down, creating cascades.
Multiplier Wild Symbols: Wild symbols can substitute for all regular paying symbols to help form winning combinations. They may also land with a random multiplier ranging from 1x to 10x, boosting payouts.
Ink Stains and Tenta-Grab: When a winning combination occurs, the positions are marked with "Ink Stains." The Eye of Otto symbol, when landing on an Ink Stained position, triggers the Tenta-Grab feature. A tentacle then grabs a random symbol and replaces all Ink Stained positions with that symbol.
Eight Arm Is The Charm Free Spins: Triggered by landing 3 or more Scatter symbols. During this bonus, Ink Stains persist between spins until the Tenta-Grab feature is activated, using them up.
Give Me Eight! Free Spins: Activated by landing 3 or more Epic Scatter Symbols. Similar to the previous free spins round, Ink Stains remain, but the Tenta-Grab feature can only grab Wild or Multiplier Wild symbols, potentially leading to higher wins.
Gameplay Mechanics and Strategies
Unique Mechanics: Octo Attack utilizes a cluster pays system combined with cascading wins, where winning symbols vanish and new ones fall into place. The Ink Stains and Tenta-Grab features add a strategic layer, allowing for potential symbol transformations and extended winning sequences.
In-Game Dynamics: The game's medium volatility aims to provide a balance between win frequency and payout size. The persistence of Ink Stains in free spins rounds can lead to significant chain reactions and symbol upgrades through the Tenta-Grab.
Player Strategy: While no strategy can alter the inherent RTP of a slot game, understanding the mechanics of Ink Stains and the Tenta-Grab feature can help players appreciate the game's flow. Managing bet size in relation to the medium volatility is a common approach for extended play sessions.
