Game Features and Bonuses
Layout: The game uses a dynamic 5-reel setup with a 3-4-5-4-3 row configuration, offering 720 ways to win by landing matching symbols on adjacent reels.
Special Symbols: Wild symbols substitute for all regular paying symbols to help form winning combinations. Scatter symbols are key to triggering the Free Spins bonus. Lightning Symbols are involved in the Money Awards feature.
Money Awards: Above each reel, a Money Award is displayed. These awards can be upgraded by Lightning Symbols landing on reels 1, 2, 4, or 5. Landing at least one Lightning Symbol can randomly trigger a Bonus Wheel spin to award one of the cash prizes.
Free Spins: Landing five Scatter symbols that spell out "SURGE" across the reels activates the Free Spins bonus, starting with 4 spins. Before the round begins, each triggering Scatter reveals either a +1 spin or a +1x multiplier. The feature can be retriggered.
Multiplier Mechanic: During the base game, landing exactly four Scatter symbols on different reels increases a persistent win multiplier by 0.5x. This multiplier carries over into the Free Spins round and resets to 1x after the feature concludes.
Gameplay Mechanics and Strategies
Unique Mechanics: Cash Surge combines a ways to win system with a dynamic reel setup and two distinct bonus features: the Money Awards and the Multiplier Free Spins. The progressive multiplier in the base game that carries into Free Spins adds a layer of anticipation.
In Game Dynamics: The game maintains a high volatility profile, meaning wins may be less frequent but potentially larger. The hit frequency of 26.11% suggests that approximately one in four spins will result in a win.
Player Strategy: Given the high volatility and fixed RTP, no strategy can alter the long term outcome of the game. Players should manage their bankroll effectively, especially considering the potential for extended periods between significant wins. Understanding the mechanics of both bonus features can help players appreciate the game's design.
Comparison with Similar Slots

Another comparison could be [Money Train](/catalog/relaxgaming-money-train) 3 by Relax Gaming, which focuses heavily on cash collection features and high volatility, although its theme is distinct. Pragmatic Play's own Sweet Bonanza shares the high volatility and potential for large multipliers, but uses a cluster pays system.
