How It Plays
Baccarat Speed B follows the traditional rules of Baccarat. The game uses eight decks of cards. Players place their bets on either the "Banker" hand, the "Player" hand, or a "Tie" between the two. Two cards are dealt to both the Player and Banker positions. Depending on the initial card values, a third card may be drawn for either hand according to fixed rules. The goal is for the chosen hand to have a total value closest to nine. Tens and face cards count as zero, while other cards are worth their face value. If the total exceeds nine, only the second digit is considered (e.g., 15 becomes 5). The "Speed" aspect means that betting windows are shorter, and cards are dealt more quickly, leading to more rounds per hour than a standard Baccarat game.
House Edge by Bet
| Bet | Payout | House Edge | RTP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Banker | 0.95:1 | 1.06% | 98.94% |
| Player | 1:1 | 1.24% | 98.76% |
| Tie | 8:1 | 14.36% | 85.64% |
The RTP of 98.94% for Baccarat Speed B is based on the Banker bet, which includes a 5% commission on wins. The Tie bet carries a significantly higher house edge, making it a less favorable option over the long term.
Strategy and Bankroll
For Baccarat Speed B, the optimal strategy is to consistently bet on the Banker hand due to its slightly lower house edge compared to the Player hand. While the 5% commission on Banker wins might seem unappealing, the underlying probabilities still make it the mathematically superior choice. The Player bet is the next best option. The Tie bet, despite its attractive 8:1 payout, has a house edge over ten times higher than the Banker bet, making it a high-risk proposition that significantly impacts your bankroll over time. Given the faster pace of Speed Baccarat, managing your bankroll carefully is even more crucial, as more rounds per hour mean faster potential fluctuations in your balance.
