Game Features and Bonuses
Layout: The game features 6 main reels, with rows varying from 2 to 7 symbols per reel, creating a dynamic Megaways structure. An additional horizontal tracker reel sits below reels 2, 3, 4, and 5, influencing symbols above.
Special Symbols: Wild symbols appear on the extra reel and can duplicate onto the reel above. Scatter symbols are key to triggering the bonus round, while Terminator symbols in free spins reduce remaining lives.
Free Spins: Triggered after the Heart Bonus Round, free spins include an unlimited win multiplier that increases with each cascade and does not reset between spins.
Bonus Rounds: The Heart Bonus Round is a respin feature activated by 3 scatters, determining the number of "lives" (free spins) awarded. Players start with 3 respins, which reset with each new scatter.
Unique Features: Cascading wins allow for consecutive wins on a single spin. The Win Exchange feature enables players to trade 100x their bet for direct entry into free spins or gamble smaller wins for a chance at the bonus.
Gameplay Mechanics and Strategies
The Race utilizes the Megaways engine, meaning the number of symbols on each reel changes with every spin, altering the number of ways to win up to 117,649. Wins are formed by landing matching symbols on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost reel. The cascading reels mechanic removes winning symbols, allowing new ones to fall into place and potentially create further wins within the same spin. The game's extreme volatility suggests that wins may be less frequent but potentially larger. While no strategy can alter the game's inherent RTP, understanding the Win Exchange feature can allow players to decide whether to gamble smaller wins for a chance at the free spins or directly purchase the bonus round.
Comparison with Similar Slots
Bonanza Megaways (Big Time Gaming): Also a high volatility Megaways slot with cascading reels and an increasing multiplier in free spins. Bonanza offers a similar dynamic gameplay experience but with a mining theme and a slightly different bonus trigger mechanism.
Extra Chilli Megaways (Big Time Gaming): Another popular Megaways title from the same provider, featuring a Mexican market theme. It shares the cascading wins, unlimited free spins multiplier, and a similar Win Exchange option, appealing to players who enjoy high-risk, high-reward gameplay.
Gonzo's Quest Megaways (Red Tiger Gaming): While not from Big Time Gaming, this slot also uses the Megaways mechanic with cascading wins and an increasing multiplier. It provides a familiar gameplay loop for fans of the genre, focusing on an adventure theme with unique visual elements.
