How It Plays
Amazing Baccarat follows traditional baccarat rules, played with eight decks of cards. The goal is to bet on which hand, "Player" or "Banker," will achieve a total card value closest to nine. A "Tie" bet is also available if both hands have the same value.
Card values are: Aces are one point, cards two through nine are face value, and tens and face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are zero points. If a hand's total exceeds nine, only the second digit counts (e.g., 15 becomes 5).
After bets are placed, the dealer deals two cards to each hand. A third card may be drawn for either hand based on fixed baccarat rules, requiring no player decisions.
Winning Player bets pay 1:1. Winning Banker bets pay 1:1, but a 5% commission is deducted, resulting in an effective payout of 0.95:1. This commission balances the Banker hand's slight statistical advantage. A winning Tie bet typically pays 8:1. Side bets like Player Pair and Banker Pair pay if the first two cards dealt to the respective hand form a pair.
House Edge by Bet
| Bet | Payout | House Edge | RTP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Banker | 0.95:1 | 1.06% | 98.94% |
| Player | 1:1 | 1.24% | 98.76% |
| Tie | 8:1 | 14.36% | 85.64% |
| Player Pair | 11:1 | 10.36% | 89.64% |
| Banker Pair | 11:1 | 10.36% | 89.64% |
| Either Pair | 5:1 | 13.71% | 86.29% |
The house edge figures highlight a significant difference between the main bets and the Tie bet. The Banker bet, even with the 5% commission, offers the lowest house edge, making it the most mathematically favorable option. The Tie bet has a substantially higher house edge, making it a less optimal choice for long-term play.
Strategy and Bankroll
The optimal strategy for Amazing Baccarat is to consistently bet on the Banker hand. Despite the 5% commission, the Banker hand's drawing rules give it a slightly higher probability of winning, resulting in the lowest house edge. This makes the Banker bet the most statistically sound choice.
Avoid the Tie bet and other side bets if your goal is to minimize the house edge. These bets, while offering higher payouts, come with a significantly higher house edge, making them less likely to yield positive results over time.
Effective bankroll management is crucial. Set a budget for your session and stick to it. Baccarat rounds are quick, so managing your bets carefully is important. Betting a small percentage of your total bankroll per hand allows for more gameplay and helps absorb short-term fluctuations.

If you prefer baccarat variants with additional features, Golden Wealth Baccarat by Evolution Gaming incorporates random multipliers, potentially boosting payouts on winning hands, though this includes an additional 20% "Lightning Fee" on each bet. For those who enjoy the ritual of the card squeeze, Evolution Gaming's Baccarat Squeeze and Baccarat Control Squeeze provide an immersive experience where the dealer slowly reveals the cards, or players can virtually "squeeze" the cards themselves. These tables maintain the core baccarat math but add a layer of theatricality.
