How It Plays
Speed Blackjack I follows the standard rules of Evolution's live blackjack, but with a key difference in dealing mechanics. After the initial two cards are dealt to all players, the next cards (hits, doubles, splits) are offered to the player who makes the fastest decision. This means the game does not wait for players to act in seat order, significantly speeding up the rounds.
Players aim to achieve a hand total closer to 21 than the dealer's hand, without exceeding 21. Blackjack pays 3:2. The dealer stands on all 17s (hard or soft). Players can double down on any initial two cards and can double after splitting. Splitting is permitted once, but re-splitting is not allowed. The dealer takes a hole card and peeks for blackjack if their up-card is an Ace, but the player loses their total wager (including any doubled or split bets) if the dealer has blackjack. Insurance is offered when the dealer shows an Ace, but this bet has a negative expected value in the long run.
Two optional side bets are available: 21+3 and Perfect Pairs. These bets are resolved independently of the main hand's outcome and offer higher payouts for specific card combinations, though they come with a significantly higher house edge.
House Edge by Bet
| Bet Type | House Edge | RTP |
|---|---|---|
| Main Hand (Basic Strategy) | 0.71% | 99.29% |
| 21+3 | 3.70% | 96.30% |
| Perfect Pairs | 4.10% | 95.90% |
The RTP for the main hand is based on optimal basic strategy play. The side bets carry a substantially higher house edge, meaning they are less favorable to the player over time compared to the main blackjack game.
Strategy and Bankroll
The optimal strategy for Speed Blackjack I is basic strategy, which involves making mathematically correct decisions (hit, stand, double, split) based on your hand total and the dealer's up-card. Adhering to basic strategy minimizes the house edge to 0.71%. Deviating from basic strategy will increase the house edge and reduce your long-term RTP.
For bankroll management, it's crucial to set limits and stick to them. Given the faster pace of Speed Blackjack, more hands are played per hour, which can lead to faster bankroll fluctuations. Avoid chasing losses and consider the higher house edge of side bets when deciding whether to place them. While tempting, the 21+3 and Perfect Pairs side bets cost 5-6 times more per dollar wagered than the main hand due to their higher house edge.
Comparison with Similar Tables
Speed Blackjack I offers a distinct experience compared to other live blackjack tables. For players who prefer a standard pace, tables like Premium Classic Blackjack 1 or Classique Blackjack Un provide the same core Evolution rules without the accelerated dealing. These tables maintain the same 99.29% RTP on the main bet under basic strategy, but the dealing proceeds in a fixed, sequential order. If you are looking for a blackjack experience with a slightly different provider, Blackjack Classic: Chips.gg offers a similar game with its own set of rules and RTP.
