General
As the owner and operator of the chips.gg ("Website"), we are committed to preventing money laundering, terrorism financing, fraud, and other illicit activities through our Website. To comply with applicable rules and regulatory standards, we implement anti-money laundering procedures, including Know Your Customer (KYC) policies. Our Company generally prohibits anonymous accounts on its Website and always conducts customer identification upon registration.
Customer identification on our Website involves gathering personal details via a registration form to establish the customer's identity. This may include:
- Name and surname
- Username
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Valid email address
- Country/Region
To open an account on our Website, a customer must complete the registration form, agree to the Terms of Service, confirm they are of legal age, and are not a Politically Exposed Person (PEP)/High-Risk Occupant (HIO) or related to a PEP/HIO. The account will be available for use only after verifying the validity of the customer's email address.
During a customer's usage of the Website, we may request additional information and verification of their identity. The amount of information we require depends on the risk degree assigned to the customer. We use a risk-based approach to determine if a customer's transactions, status, origin/location, or actions are associated with illegal activities.
Depending on the assigned risk degree, we may, at our discretion, request additional personal details, such as:
- Scan of reliable documents (ID Card, Passport, Travel Passport, Driving License, etc.)
- Photo with the above document(s)
- Information on the source of funds
- Or any other information deemed necessary to verify the customer's identity
We shall apply additional identification and verification measures as required by applicable laws, including checking if the customer is a Politically Exposed Person as defined by the Directive 2015/849 of the European Parliament and of the Council, or if they are related to a PEP/HIO, sanctioned person, etc.
Failure to pass customer due diligence may result in restrictive measures, including:
- Canceling any winnings
- Blocking/closing accounts
- Excluding players from participating in games
- Retaining payments
- Reporting to the relevant authorities
We regularly review customers' risk degree profiles and monitor their activities for suspicious behavior. Any changes in the risk profile may trigger additional identity checks and verifications at our discretion.
