Game Features and Bonuses
Layout: The game utilizes a 6x6 grid where wins are formed by landing clusters of 5 or more matching symbols in adjacent positions. Winning symbols disappear, triggering a cascade of new symbols.
Special Symbols: The Wild symbol, a turquoise stone with a 'W', substitutes for other symbols to help form winning clusters. The scatter symbol is a scroll marked 'FS', used to trigger Free Spins.
Free Spins: Landing 3 or more scatter symbols activates the Free Spins feature, awarding 10 free spins. During this bonus round, the Boostbar symbol appears more frequently.
Boostbar Mechanic: When a Boostbar symbol (a book with 'BB') lands, a 4-position bar above the reels activates, potentially revealing modifiers like Magic Lantern, Blocking Stones, Symbols with Splitter Functionality, Wilds, Global Multipliers, or Symbol Multipliers.
Unique Features: The Boostbar is a central mechanic, offering dynamic modifiers that can enhance wins. These include splitting symbols into multiple instances, adding wilds, or applying various multipliers to symbols or global wins.
Gameplay Mechanics and Strategies
Unique Mechanics: Cash Quest employs a cluster pays system combined with cascading wins, allowing for multiple wins from a single spin. The Boostbar adds a layer of dynamic modifiers that change the reel state and potential payouts.
In-Game Dynamics: The cascading reels mean that winning symbols are removed, and new ones drop down, potentially creating chain reactions of wins. The Boostbar modifiers can significantly alter the game's volatility within a spin, especially with global multipliers.
Player Strategy: While no strategy can alter the game's inherent RTP, players might consider their bet size in relation to the high volatility. The Bonus Buy option, which costs 119x the bet and slightly increases the RTP to 96.36%, offers direct access to the Free Spins round for those who prefer immediate bonus action.
Comparison with Similar Slots
Cash Quest shares similarities with other cluster pays slots that feature cascading reels and dynamic modifiers. Another comparable title is Play'n GO's Reactoonz, which features a 7x7 grid, cascading wins, and various quantum features that charge up to release modifiers. Hacksaw Gaming's own Forest Fortune also features an enchanted forest theme and dynamic features, though with a different core mechanic.
