How It Plays
Speed Blackjack L follows the standard rules of blackjack. The objective is to get a hand value closer to 21 than the dealer, without exceeding 21. Eight decks are used, and blackjack pays 3:2. The dealer stands on all 17s (both hard and soft). Players can double down on any initial two cards and can also double after splitting. Splitting is allowed once, but re-splitting is not. A key rule to note is the absence of surrender. The dealer takes a hole card and peeks for blackjack only when an Ace is showing. If the dealer has blackjack with a 10-value card up, the player loses their total wager, including any amounts from doubles or splits.
The "Speed" aspect comes from the dealing procedure. Cards are dealt to all players simultaneously. Once the initial hands are dealt, the player who makes the fastest decision (Hit, Stand, Double, or Split) receives their next card first. This accelerates the game flow, minimizing waiting times between rounds and allowing for more hands per hour.
House Edge by Bet
| Bet Type | House Edge | RTP |
|---|---|---|
| Main Hand | 0.71% | 99.29% |
| 21+3 Side Bet | 3.70% | 96.30% |
| Perfect Pairs Side Bet | 4.10% | 95.90% |
The house edge for the main hand is based on optimal basic strategy. The side bets, while offering potentially higher payouts, carry a significantly higher house edge, making them less favorable for long-term play.
Strategy and Bankroll
The optimal strategy for Speed Blackjack L is to employ basic blackjack strategy, which involves making decisions (Hit, Stand, Double, Split, Insurance) based on your hand and the dealer's upcard. This strategy minimizes the house edge to 0.71% on the main bet. Deviating from basic strategy increases the house edge.
Regarding bankroll management, the faster pace of Speed Blackjack L means you can play more hands in a given period. This can lead to faster fluctuations in your bankroll. It is crucial to set a budget for your session and stick to it, regardless of whether you are winning or losing. Avoid the temptation to chase losses, especially given the accelerated nature of the game. Side bets should be approached with caution; their higher house edge means they will deplete your bankroll faster over time compared to the main game. Insurance, offered when the dealer shows an Ace, is a separate bet with a negative expected value and is generally not recommended as part of basic strategy.
Comparison with Similar Tables
Speed Blackjack L offers a distinct experience within Evolution Gaming's blackjack portfolio. For players who prefer a traditional pace, tables like Premium Classic Blackjack 1 or Premium Classic Blackjack 3 offer identical rules and RTP but with a standard dealing speed. If language preference is a factor, tables such as Premium Türkçe Blackjack 1 provide the same core gameplay with Turkish-speaking dealers. The primary differentiator for Speed Blackjack L is its accelerated gameplay, making it suitable for players who value efficiency and a higher volume of hands.
