Game Features and Bonuses
Layout: The game features a 5-reel setup with 3 to 5 rows, offering 243 base payways. Above and below the main grid are Enhancer Cells, which are locked at the start of each base game spin.
Special Symbols: Key symbols include Split Wilds, which split all regular symbols on their reel into two instances. xWays symbols reveal 4-stacked matching regular icons, potentially increasing the number of active symbols on a reel.
Free Spins (Lockdown Spins): Triggered by 3, 4, or 5 Bonus symbols, which award 1, 2, or 3 Jumping Wilds respectively. Before the round, a mini-game determines a multiplier for a high-paying symbol or Jumping Wild, and the number of free spins. Jumping Wilds move randomly on each spin and can double their multiplier if they land on a Razor Split symbol.
Bonus Rounds: The Enhancer Cells open when a Bonus symbol lands, revealing high-paying characters, Wilds, Razor Split, or xWays symbols. Razor Split symbols divide all regular symbols on their aligned reel into two instances.
Unique Features: The game incorporates a Feature Buy option, allowing players to directly purchase entry into the Lockdown Spins with varying numbers of Jumping Wilds.
Gameplay Mechanics and Strategies
Unique Mechanics: San Quentin xWays introduces "Enhancer Cells" that expand the reel set and "xWays" symbols that increase the number of symbols on a reel, dynamically changing the payways. The "Razor Split" feature further splits symbols, enhancing win potential.
In-Game Dynamics: The game's high volatility means wins can be infrequent but potentially large. The interaction between Split Wilds, xWays, and Razor Split symbols can lead to significant symbol expansions and increased winning combinations, particularly during the Lockdown Spins.
Player Strategy: Given the very high volatility, a conservative betting strategy is advisable to withstand potential dry spells. While no strategy can alter the game's RTP, understanding the mechanics of the Enhancer Cells and how they interact with xWays and Razor Split symbols can help players appreciate the game's potential during bonus rounds.
